Jason is one of the hosts of the Alpha Youth Series and a pastor at his home church, Christian Life Assembly in Langley, British Columbia. He works with Alpha to build resources that serve the local church. Jason and Rachael have three kids: Hudson, Mary and Millie. Bill has served as Lead Pastor of Central Community Church in St. Catharines, ON, a growing multi-generational church in the Niagara Region, since 2008. He is a dynamic communicator who harnesses the ability to translate the timeless truth of God’s Word in such a way as to connect with both the growing believer and the first-time seeker. He is passionate about seeing people discover their God-given potential and live it out passionately by serving others. Bill always engages in honest conversation about leadership, creativity and the church and will be refreshingly transparent as he discusses lessons he is learning as a Lead Pastor in a growing, multi-staff, multi-generational church.
He has been married to his best friend, Karlene, for over 25 years and they have three adult children, Reed, Tessa and Garrett. If you can’t find him at the church, you will most likely find him on the court where his passion for volleyball is seen in his commitment to coaching for the local high school and city travel teams.
Bill has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology from Summit Pacific College and a Master’s Degree in Theological Studies from Tyndale Seminary. He loves to read, dream audaciously and inspire others to do the same.
Brady Shearer is the CEO of Pro Church Tools and the creator of Nucleus and Storytape. Brady’s work centers upon helping churches seize the 167 hours beyond their Sunday services and navigating their ministries through the single biggest communication shift we’ve seen in the last 500 years.
Cindy serves as the Children and Family Ministries Director of the Western District of PAOC. She is married to Mark and is mom to their two sons, Curtis and Aaron. She has been involved in kids ministry for over 20 years, travelling across Canada with Rubber Chicken Company, serving on staff at churches in kids ministry, and teaching and speaking at various leadership events. Her passions include helping people grow in their gifts and abilities, equipping leaders with tools and resources to effectively disciple children and families, and seeing people come to know Jesus. Cindy recently completed her M.A. in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy, and is also a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a private counselling practice in St. Catharines, Ontario.
Kevin has been the Lead Pastor of the vibrantly growing church in Burlington, Ontario called Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church since 2008. His ministry is motivated and characterized by inspiring generations of diverse people to grow and experience the joy of faith in Jesus. Kevin currently serves as Assistant Superintendent of the W.O.D. and sits on the Board of Governors for Masters College and Seminary. Kevin is married to his beautiful, long-time best friend Sherri and is thrilled to be the father of two great kids, Caleb and Sadie.
Tim Day is the Executive Director of City Movement. City Movement is a ministry helping business leaders, ministries and churches work together to advance Jesus’ message and mission in their city. Tim works closely with FaithTech, a ministry focused on mobilizing Christians working in technology. Tim combines a passion for leadership, strategy and innovation with a rich understanding of the Biblical narrative and its principles of transformation and growth. Previously, Tim served for fourteen years as the senior pastor at The Meeting House, a multi-site church that grew from a few hundred people to over 5,000 people in cities across Ontario. He is also the author of God Enters Stage Left, a creative retelling of God’s story. Tim is married to Liz and has three children, Nathan, Rachel and Josh. He enjoys basketball, distance running and writing.
Tim works as the National Youth Director for Alpha Canada and is passionate about empowering youth workers and students to share the good news of Jesus everywhere they go. He is also a pastor and teaching team member at his local church, in Langley BC. He’s married to his incredible wife Chanel and together they have two beautiful and energetic daughters, Ellie and Sunday. He’s passionate about Jesus, golf, good coffee, and the enneagram.
Bev Giroux is a talented singer, songwriter and music teacher. She loves leading worship in her home church in London, ON. Bev has written and recorded an album called “Every Waking Day,” and has written and performed on numerous Gateway Worship albums. She is passionate about helping others engage in worship authentically. She is also passionate about her daughter Melody, husband Wayne, coffee, books and hugs.
Tricia serves as the Connections Pastor at Bethel Church in Sarnia, Ontario where she led the Children’s and Youth Ministries for 13 years. Following God’s call has been her greatest adventure, taking her to places she never imagined, teaching and preaching to every age group in churches, camps, schools, orphanages and brothels. In all areas of her life, Tricia loves to mentor young people, equipping the next generation of leaders to live for Jesus.
Alyssa Esparaz brings her passions for youth, justice and Jesus to Compassion Canada as a Writer and Communicator. As a young adult and youth leader herself, she is passionate about inspiring and equipping young Christ-followers to live compassionate lifestyles. She is the host of Compassion’s youth curriculum, True Story: What God Wants Us To Do About Poverty. As a speaker and blogger, Alyssa passionately encourages her generation to bring Christ’s hope to the darkest places of the world. When she’s not doing any of the above or working towards her International Development degree at the University of Toronto, Alyssa can be found cheering for the Raptors, dreaming about going on an airplane, or eating way too much ice cream.
